This off-the-grid tiny home on wheels is absolutely stunning. Designed to resemble a heritage style home, it’s been beautifully crafted and is packed full of clever design features. Built by husband and wife duo Cera and Oliver, this home has given the couple a brand new lease on life.
After purchasing a large home in town, Cera and Oliver found themselves in a position where they were constantly working to be able to sustain their lifestyle. With mortgage payments and home upkeep, they suddenly found themselves in a situation where they were no longer able to enjoy the things they used to love doing, such as getting out into nature and enjoying sports. That’s when the couple decided to downsize and build their dream tiny house on wheels.
The style of the home was inspired by their original heritage home in Armstrong, British Columbia. The shape, materials and colour all being borrowed from their previous dream home, to create a smaller version more appropriately sized to their lifestyle. The home was designed to be completely off the grid, allowing the couple to capitalise on the fact that their home is on wheels, opening it up to a wider variety of parking spaces and potentially even allowing them to travel in their home if they chose to.
With Oliver having a background in Construction, and Cera a keen eye for design, the couple decided to share their new-found love of tiny house living by starting their own tiny house building company.
This modern tiny house is truly a musicians dream home. Asha Mevlana is an electric violinist with the Trans Siberian Orchestra who is used to life on tour but wanted a solid place to call home. This incredible tiny house is constructed on foundations but is joined by a mobile music studio on wheels, which also doubles as a practice space as well as performance venue.
Asha's home is beautiful and spacious. At 40ft, it's certainly on the larger side of tiny, yet is packed with very clever small space design ideas.
The adjoining mobile music studio is a fantastic addition. Decorated to look like a giant amp, it's marine speakers allow it to also transform into a performance space for wonderful back-yard concerts and also enabling the music studio to be taken on tour and to festivals.

The tiny house movement in England is starting to really gain momentum, as house prices drive people towards alternative living. Tom is a pioneer in the movement, being one of the first in the country to build a tiny home.
This tiny house was really fun to tour. It reminds me very much of some of the early home tours from New Zealand and Australia when the movement was getting started. This is a grass roots movement which is ready to explode in the UK and I'm excited to see where it leads. I hope you enjoy the full tour of this wonderful home built by an inspiring young man!

This weeks episode takes us to the wild woods of Wales, where a remarkable woman has chosen to live close to nature in a £1000 tiny earthen home, with no running water, electricity, or internet. To many of us, this may seem like an extreme lifestyle choice, but for Emma, this way of life is all about building a closer relationship to nature while also creating a lifestyle where she is free of the pressures of the modern world. Her simple home is beautiful, cosy and warm. Water is collected from a spring fed stream which runs by her house, and at night, candles and a fire light her home. Emma’s story is a wonderful reminder of just how little we actually need in life, and perhaps also a reminder of how much of ourselves that we need to sacrifice in order to obtain the things we do have. I hope you enjoy her story and the video tour of her very special, very simple home.
